Who will win CMP Trail?

She is the queen of the CMP Trail, ever since the first edition of the CMP Trail she was the first woman to cross the finish line. That’s why Silvia Rampazzo is this year’s favorite. Her racing history until now is quite impressive: third place in the Trail Run WorldCup 2017, winner of the Transgrancanaria Marathon and a number of victories in multiple races since 2014. In recent history she was able to achieve impressive times and always cross the finish line with a smile. Will she be able to repeat it this year?

Her teammate and good friend Silvia Serafini might be her greatest competitor on sunday. After a serious injury which kept her from running, Silvia now seems to be in the shape again, for which her podium on the Vesuvio Ultra Marathon and her sixth place on the Cortina Trail are proof.

Even though they might be competitors after all we will still be able to meet them  at the LABI-Stand drinking a beer.

Daniela Rota will not be missing this years race, the athlete from Bergamo (La Sportiva Team), showed some incredible skill on short distance races and was able to secure a second place in last years race, nothing less then Francesca Canepa.

Great attention should also be paid to the big representation of international athletes like Marie-Luise Mühlhuber and Martina Kirschner-Trimmel.

We are still having the incredible achievement of Davide Cheraz (3:41) in mind, after his exciting fight with Enzo Romeri (3:44) which we could follow over the last few kilometers of the race. Both of them seem to have good legs: A few weeks ago we saw him win the TOR30, a new distance in the queen of mountain races.

Enzo on the other hand started his season with a nice third place on the Cortina Trail and wants to finish this years CMP Trail even better. After a fifth place 2017, a second in 2018 everything seems to be possible for him in 2019.

In the fight  for victory Nicola Giovanelli, Marco Menegardi, Gil Pintarelli, who could haul in victory when the race had the opposite direction and Stefano Ruzza from Team Vibram, who had to stop the TOR race at km 81, but his seventh place at UTMB 2018 is still present, bringing back an Italian to the Top 10 in memory of Marco Olmo.

Other professional atheletes like Catalan Eric Moya, Raül Rota will try to make this race as hard as possible for the favorites, another Rota but this time is Donatello from Bergamo and the athlete “Tornado”.

International athletes like Florian Reichter, forth place in the ITRA-ranking in Germany and the Austrian Marcus Burger, who is one of the strongest racers of his country complete the field of the mentionable athletes with Darius Gagiu, from the Romanian National Team and the two young hopes: Dan Alexandru Hriscu and Radu Milea.

The male competitors have surprised us many times and looking at those names competing this time that seems to be the case this year again.
